For helicopters and rotary-wing aircrafts with wheels, the landing and taxiing phases are critical operations. The landing gear should be able to withstand the weight of the aircraft and the taxiing phases for several thousand kilometers throughout the aircraft's years of service.

In order to avoid any incident, a special attention is given to the parts making up the wheel and brake sub-assembly allowing precise support and braking. Forgings are ideal for these applications. The process enables the production of one-piece parts with complex geometries and optimal mechanical characteristics. The use of materials such as aluminum, titanium and high-performance steels also helps reduce part weights while ensuring superior performance and reduced maintenance phases.
